Pentair Pool Products developed the Two-Head Smoothie horizontal sand filter series in order to provide the industry with a filter line that fits between the Triton line of filters and the larger Stark filter line. The THS is a more cost effective, competitive sand filter. One aspect that makes this filter unique is its unwound tank. The THS series is a fiberglass cylinder that is gel coated inside and out. Even without the winding, the tank achieves a 50-psi rating. The gel coating, Paracote™, an exclusive to Pentair Pool Products, gives the tank a nice, smooth look as well as offers great protection from sun and weather. “The gel coating on the outside gives the product a more finished appeal, making the look fit the performance of the filter,” adds Atlas. “Because the interior coating is smooth it will also improve filter performance long-term. This is a big selling point to our customers.”
